    Engro Holds Pakistan’s 1st Forest Photography Exhibition

    Lahore, July 11, 2012– Engro Polymer & Chemicals Limited (EPCL) inaugurated Pakistan’s first ever Forest Photography Exhibition, yesterday. Titled “FoRest of Life”, the exhibition will be displayed at the Al Hamra Art Gallery in Lahore, from 10th July till 18th July, 2012.

    EPCL maintains its focus on active participation in social and community development programs targeting the community within which it operates. With a collective aim of reaching out to the community and strengthening the social infrastructure, the organization has embarked on a number of projects, one of the most important being its commitment to its forestation program “The Go Green Drive” which was initiated in 2009. In recognition of the year 2011 being declared the ‘International Year of Forests’ by the United Nations, EPCL is pleased to have continued contributing its share of efforts for forest conservation.

    Addressing the inaugural session, Khalid Siraj Subhani, CEO, EPCL highlighted, “Forests represent the sheer strength of nature, which EPCL has tried to capture using a camera lens. Displayed in the exhibition, are forests of Pakistan in all their beauty, protected by the rule of law. In this respect, Engro we have tried to present the best of Pakistan, mainly the forests located within the major mountain ranges, across all the provinces.”

    The pictures on display have been capture by Yasir Nisar, photographer extraordinaire, and present the various forests in Pakistan including sub Alpine coniferous Forests, Dry temperate coniferous Forests, Moist temperate coniferous Forests, Sub Tropical Pine Forests, Dry-Tropical Broad-leaved Forests, Dry Tropical Thorn forests, Riverain Forests, Mangrove forests, Irrigated Plantations and Liner Plantations.
